Soccer on the Northwestern Turf Field!!!

Hi, This morning I got to play soccer on the Northwestern Turf Field!!!
Mom I didn't even read this. I need you to contact Audrey and or Zach and tell them i can't read his email. Please tell them I would love to write a letter, but I have to be obedient aI can't read this. Please tell them not to send them anymore. I'm sorry.
Save the letter that zach emailed me, for all I know I might have to read how he is doing in Italy when I get home.
Mom please don't give my address out to anyone. I can't have stuff forwarded either. Give them the mission office address and they can write. I will just see it pop up on my email and I'll have to delete it. I got one from Kevin and I read it and did him the courtesy of telling him I can't read or write anymore. Zach's I didn't even get to read. Please don't make this harder for me to do by allowing more people to write me. Help pass the word around. Thanks.
I liked the tie and I wore it on Sunday. My Easter started out great. I made breakfast, which I hadn't done in a while, and then we had Stake Conference. It was a broadcast from Salt Lake to severl states here in the Midwest. We got to hear from Elder Oaks and the Prophet again. There was some great stuff in there. My companion and I walked in just in time to hear Bill be sustained to receive the Melchezidek Priesthood. I was way in the back standing up, and he was all the way at the front, but I raised my hand high. We had wards from Chicago and all over here at our meeting house, which is the Stake center. After the Conference we took care of Bill's ordination. Like I said, Bill had asked me to confer the priesthood on him and ordain him to the office of an Elder. It was such a neat experience. A few members that I knew from the Chicago 1st ward and some other missionaries, including Elder Purdie were gathered in a small room. I stood behind Bill with both of my hands on his head. I then got to give him a priesthood blessing. This was so incredible to see how his conversion and progression has blossomed, and to think that it's been almost a year. Wow!!! The weather was also incredible for Easter. My companion then wanted to go home and take lunch, and this is where things turned. Our dinner appointment for that night canceled, so we were then going to go over to another members, and I decided I would make some Jello to take over while my companion ate. I burnt my hand on a the handle of a pan when I was boiling water. Then I was trying to clean the griddle from breakfast this morning and I went to pour some oil on a paper towel and dropped the bottle. Vegetable oil splashed and spilled everywhere: all over my 3 piece brown suit, on the floor, and on the counter. It was turning out to be my day. Things got cleaned up and I changed my suit, and I was extrememly glad to be back out in the warm weather knocking doors. Then our dinner appointment called to say they would still be expecting us. So I canceled the other one. I had put the Jello in the freezer, and when we went to get it part of it had frozen. I had made two dishes one was a mixture of strawberry and berry fusion, the other was apricot and grape. Purple and Orange made a translucent brown color. The members tried it, and I think they liked the berry one, but there was a lot left over of the odd mixture. It was a good meal though. It turned out to be an awesome Easter. Thanks for the package. On another note. Beverly was hospitalized on Friday. She woke up in the night in a sweat, checked her sugar, and everything was fine. When she tried to walk downstairs she found she couldn't breath. She didn't remember anything after that. The doctors said when they checked her vitals when she got to the hospital her heart beat was at 30! We visited her Friday and Sunday. Monday she had a wire threaded through her arteries and everything was ok. Yesterday we taught Beverly and a member came along with us. We planned to teach the Plan of Salvation. After answering her questions about temples and a few more questions that she had about worthiness we went into the Plan of Salvation. We taught using some cards that Elder Stanger had. Part way through the lesson you could tell she was really pondering what we were teaching, almost like she was struggling through something. Then she told us how a close friend to their family had passed away on Sunday. She explained how she had got up Easter morning, cooked for her family and then was found dead on the floor later that day. She added how her own health problems had been compounded lately, and how death all of the suddenly seemed so real. She explained all of this and stated that she was really trying to understand all of what we were teaching because it was so relevant. Here I sat watching how the Spirit and the doctrine of the Plan of Salvation was working to convert Beverly. She really wanted to understand. She said she didn't want to make the wrong decision, or be led astray. She talked about her mother who had passed away and expressed worries for her, and wondered what her mother would have her do. I explained to her that "for all we know your mother is being taught the same thing you are in the spirit world, or has already excepted and is waiting for a baptism to be performed for her. She's waiting for you to do her work for her Beverly, she's waiting for you." I think Beverly realized this, but she expressed concern about what her sisters and the rest of her family would do or how circumstances would change if she were to get baptized. Somewhere along all of this that Beverly was recounting to us, I noticed her emotions were on the edge and she appeared to be crying. She was touched. She was deffinately thinking about life after this life. She committed to pray and to find out. She added, how she was so close, that she just needs an answer from the Lord that she will be doing the right thing. This was a very powerful and pivotal lesson for her. The Spirit helped us so much, not only in knowing that this is what we were to teach her, because she had already had this lesson before, but also in testifying of the truthfulness of the Plan of Salvation. At the ende she pointed to her Bible and talked about how she knew these words, but "These words have meaning; I can actually see now." She has a broaded perspective of the Gospel. She said,"My faith is taking me in a different direction 'cause I was searching." She then added and looked at me and said, "When this young man knocked on my door Ireadily accepted." This was incredible, to listen to Beverly. She's connecting the dots, building a testimony, and beginning to near the edge of commitment. We are all praying for her to receive an answer of comfort and reassurance. So this morning I got invited by a member to play soccer on the Northwestern turf field. Everybody there was of a different nationality. One of them was pro in Bolivia!!! It was really cold though. I think it would have been a little warmer, but Filipe, from Chile, wanted me to play defence, so not as much running. It was good to be in the soccer scene again, it had been so long since I'd touched a ball. These guys were good though. It was really odd to hear them say Elder on the soccer field, it almost didn't register to me. I had a good steal though while I was on defence. So mom, it sounds like Satan has unleashed his archers to fire their arrows at will. You better believe Satan will work hard to disrupt things. The war he waged in heaven he wages here when he was cast out (Rev. 12:17) He fights against those who have testimonies and against those who are doing the right thing. He's not worried about those already breaking the commandments, he already has those. This should be a sign that you and the family are on the right path. The key to fighting Satan is with our testimonies (Rev. 12:11). This is how we defeated him before and this is how we will do it now. Testimony: born in love with conviction casts out contention. I have seen this so much. When someone becomes defensive or confrontational with me, I will stop and bear solemn testimony and the person with whom I am conversing will change. I've seen it happen so much out here on my mission, testimony brings the spirit and the spirit is the tool by which we do the Lord's work. My testimony is my greatest weapon out here, it is my sword, two edged. Now the other part I talked about: love. If you love someone they will be softened. If we love, we need not fear. Read 1 John 4:18. Now when things do get challenging I want you to liken the time to the journey of the Jaredites. I just read this and learned this principle myself in my personal study, it is very helpful. It's incredible how the Lord will reveal things to you through the scriptures that is why scripture study is so important. Ether 6:5-12 The Lord is pushing us in the direction he would have us go (vs 5) However often times like the Jaredites we will experience "Mountain waves" and "Terrible tempests," (vs. 6) we may even at times be "buried in the deep."(vs 7) however if we are spiritually "tight like unto a dish" then we will need not fear. We must make ourselves and our families spiritually and physically tight to withstand the waters and waves. When we are buried in the water we must cry unto the Lord that he will bring us to the top (vs7). Trust in the Lord and know that no matter what happens in a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a year, that it is for our good. Know that the Lord is pushing us in the right direction continually!! "The wind never did cease to blow towards the Promise land" (vs 8). Vs 12- Eventually they do land in the promised land and the first thing they do is thank the Lord. This is what we need to do also. Even when they were in these barges, and in the storms they sang praises to the Lord (vs 9). Keep in mind that they are in these little barges, with only two stones for light, and no way to direct their path. They are completely reliant upon the Lord to direct them. This is how we too must be, completely and entirely trusting in the Lord that he is directing us where we are to go. Even if we don't see where we are going. If we are keeping the commandments we can be assured that the path and the events, (good or bad), occurring in our lives are the pathway that we are to be on, and that these events are necessary for us to get to our goal. Life Eternal with our Father in Heaven. All things are how they are supposed to be when we are living right. Then I must say to you "2Nephi 31:20." Push on and go forward in faith, Trust the Savior, he is mighty to save and is the author and finisher of our faith. I leave you with this as my testimony with a sure knowledge that Jesus is the Christ, the risen Lord, who leads and directs this Church through his living prophet : Thomas S. Monson. The Book of Mormon is the powerful spiritual fuel we need each day, and it is the word of God. In Jesus name Amen.

Heres this scripture also. This is how I feel about my mission and what I have seen happening to the people I teach. Alma 36:24 &26.

I love you mom and Family, You are all in my prayers always.

With love,
Elder Adams

Hi how are things today. I was writing my email to you so sorry about that. My companion is obsessed with his girlfriend. He writes how he loves her and draws these little designs and writes her name all over in his planner. You can't tell me it's not a distraction. He's convinced she will wait for him. Josh needs to drop it!!!!
Yeah you can print it off and mail it to me, that is ok. Then I guess I could write to you and you could mail it to him. Or I could just write him. It's ok if you give people my residence address, but I would probably give them the mission office then they know where they can always reach me. Yeah I would love to get letters from people!!! since all of my companions rack in the letters.
My hand? From the dog bite!! They didn't even do anything with that. I told you they looked at it and sent me away, made me pay 10 bucks!! Biggest waste ever!!
Alrighty!!!.....I was just about to write him, I was considering not because he didn't write me. Nevertheless I will be merciful to him and impart the scripture I wanted to share with him. Alma 18:34This is what a missionary is.
It's not exactly balmy here. I told mom I got to play soccer this morning on the Northwester Turf field with every nationality in the world. It was cold, and my warming process was extensive.
Whatever, restitution is needed for you boy!!! Anyway, maybe you should spend important holidays like the resurrection of the Savior with your family, whom you will spend eternity with, and not with some girl that you don't need to think about for two years. Especiall when you will be leaving in a month. Then read 2 Nephi 9:40.
Have mom show you the email I sent about what my companion does because he has a girl at home that is waiting for him. Little twitterpated drawings and love sayings written all over in his planner. Read also 2 Nephi 9:39 -be spiritually minded not carnally minded. I hope I won't be stricken for using this scriptures to teach a point to you. The scriptures are just incredible though. I value them and the experiences I've had in them and teaching from them, and they have helped to build and explain my testimony.
Alright I've got to wrap this up, I still have to go grocery shopping and drop off some dry cleaning. My companion has to get a haircut and send a package also. It's the life of a missionary so I have to get going.
I love you all tons, and I will look forward to hearing from you next week. Auf Wiedersehen
